The ADVANCED ACP®55 & 75 are movement joints similar to the EMR joint range but designed specifically for use on car parks and other pedesrianised structures and provide the designer or engineer, solutions for those installations with a minimum recess requirement. It has a movement range upto 75 mm ( ± 37.5 mm )and can be installed in a recess of 250mm wide x 50mm deep. It accommodates horizontal, rotational and transverse movements. The joint system has four main components, the elastomeric rubber insert, the carrier rail, the compression rail and the ADVANCED EMR® RESIN compound, used to encapsulate and anchor the joint. The carrier and compression rails are extruded grade 6082 aluminium with a T6 temper and are naturally corrosion free. The carrier rail has a series of grooves on the outside face to aid adhesion to the encapsulation resin. The compression rail used to secure the elastomeric rubber insert is fixed directly to the carrier rail by the use of M8 fixings at 250mm centres. The elastomeric rubber insert, manufactured from EPDM, is flexible, strong and durable. It is generally installed in one continuous length ensuring a watertight seal. In the event of damage the insert can be easily replaced without the need to replace any other parts. The ADVANCED EMR® RESIN is designed specifically to act as an encapsulation resin for expansion joints. It has good flow properties when mixed to ensure all interstices around the rails are filled. It exhibits excellent adhesion to the prepared surfaces of concrete and consolidated bituminous surfacings. It is stress absorbing and resistant to impact shock. It does not flow in hot weather and retains its characteristics in very cold conditions. |
