The ADVANCED COLDFOAM NOSING is a medium to low movement joint for bridges, car parks, podia and other trafficked areas including foot traffic. The capacity for movement depends on the size and nature of compression seal. In all cases the whole joint is designed to conform to the requirements of BA 26/94 and BD33/94 . It is resistant to damage from normal traffic loads and accommodates movement associated with changes in temperature, articulation from load, creep and shrinkage. It is normally laid in the same plane and as a continuation of the road and bridge surfacing ensuring good riding qualities. The above illustration shows one of an extensive range of installations. The joint consists of three main elements, the ADVANCED EMR RESIN used to construct twin parallel nosings, the ADVANCED COLDFOAM compression seal with varying dimensions and the ADVANCED COMPRESSION SEAL ADHESIVE a thixotropic epoxy paste which bonds the compression seal to the nosing. These individual items are combined to produce the ADVANCED COLDFOAM JOINT , and to provide a joint system that helps to overcomes the historical deficiencies in previous nosing joints systems. |

| ADVANCED COLDFOAM is a closed cell cross linked co-polymer of the ethylene vinal acetane variety. It is water impermeable, elastic, compressible and resistant to contaminants such as hydrocarbons, chlorides and the mild sulphuric acids associated with trafficked areas. COLDFOAM will compress into both simple and complex shapes. It has special serrated edges to improve bonding with the joint nosing. The product should be compressed nominally at 25% compression when it will have a residual capacity for a further 60% compression and 30% tension. |

The ADVANCED EMR RESIN is a three component reactive resin based on epoxy-urethane blended with inert graded fillers. It has good flow properties when mixed to ensure all interstices within the nosing trench are filled. It exhibits excellent adhesion to the prepared surfaces of concrete and consolidated bituminous surfacing. It is stress absorbing and resistant to impact shock. It does not flow in hot weather and retains its characteristics in very cold conditions ADVANCED COLDFOAM is bonded permanently in position using ADVANCED COMPRESSION SEAL ADHESIVE which is a thixotropic epoxy adhesive providing outstanding adhesion. It is moisture tolerant permitting use in damp conditions and is resistant to water absorption. |
